Why?
The opening of this website was prompted when Subway
started testing a new customer loyalty program in the Pacific
Northwest of the United States in July 2003. The new program uses
"The Subway
Points Card" rather than
the familiar stamp card. The new system seems to be
more practical in today's world, however, as of July 2003, the program
required customers to purchase $90 USD in product from
Subway to receive a free 12" sandwich rather than the average
$59 USD in product
required
using the stamp card.
The table below contrasts the financial differences in the
loyalty programs and was accurate on the
publish date, December 1, 2003.

| 12” Sandwich + **Combo Meal |
12” Sandwich + **Combo Meal |
| $5.50 + $1.70 = $7.20 = 7 Points |
$5.50 + $1.70 = $7.20 = 2 Stamps |
| 7 Points x 8 Visits = 56 Points |
2 stamps x 8 Visits = ***FREE 12” Sandwich |
** The add-on Combo Meal includes chips and a drink.
*** To receive the free sandwich, the customer must purchase a drink. |
